This 1.94 carat natural Alexandrite is not only a gemstone—it’s a piece of Russian gemological history. Certified by both AGL and GIA, this stone has been designated by AGL as “Classic Russia” origin—a rare and highly prestigious distinction reserved for a handful of Alexandrites that meet the highest standards of provenance, color, and clarity. In over a decade of specialization, we have never seen this label for Russian Origin Alexandrites, and even fewer with this level of optical performance.
Originally weighing just over 2 carats, this gem underwent meticulous repolishing to remove minor surface imperfections. The result is a loupe-clean, investment-grade Russian Alexandrite with exceptional face-up brilliance and near-perfect symmetry—an extreme rarity, as most Russian stones are traded in included form and still fetch premium values.
The color change is dramatic and highly saturated: Greenish Blue to Purple Pink, with a 90–100% transition noted as “Prominent to Strong” on the AGL report. This kind of alexandrite effect, in a Russian-origin stone, is exceedingly rare—and impossible to replace in today’s market.
With the Russian mines long depleted and export of verified stones now nearly nonexistent, this 1.94 ct gem stands as a collector’s opportunity. It is one of the finest small-format Russian Alexandrites we’ve handled—refined, historical, and irreplaceable.

A true Padparadscha must be certified as “Padparadscha” Sapphire by a lab. Not all labs are reliable for such responsibility. We will never self-certify a sapphire as Padparadscha. We pride ourselves on using reliable third party independent labs like GIA, and AGL for most of our gems.
