Super Rare Oval Shape Natural AGL Alexandrite 9.00 cts.
Without question, the most important factor of judging Alexandrite’s rarity is its degree of color change. That is, the more intense, the more rare. Even GIA suggests in its Buyer’s Guide for Alexandrite, that color change is the most important factor. Additionally, like all gemstones–the bigger the size(with all factors even) –the more rare it will be. In other words, the bigger stone will rank higher than its smaller equivalent. At 9 carats exactly, this Alexandrite boasts dimensions that make it look even bigger!
As for Origin, Tanzania has not produced any quality Alexandrite for some time now. According to AGL, this Alexandrite hails from there, making it even more unique and irreplaceable. We can only hope to find another stone like this in the future.
All in all, this is definitely one of the more prized Alexandrites in our collection.
